Nan Ya PCB Among FPG's Most Profitable Firms in 1H
Of FPG's 10 listed firms, the most profitable in the first half is Formosa Chemical & Fibre Corporation (FCFC), which registered NT $3.95 in after-tax earnings, followed by FPC with NT $3.27, Nan Ya Printed Circuit Board Corporation with NT $2.76 and Nan Ya Plastics Corporation with NT $2.61.

Taimide: Flexible PCB Industry to See Robust Growth
The rise of mobile devices such as smartphones, tablet PCs and e-book readers will be the driving force behind Taiwan's flexible PCB (FPCB) industry in the next three to five years, according to polymide (PI) film supplier Taimide Technology. The rising Japanese yen spurring more companies to source flexible PCB from Taiwan makers is another positive development for the material sector, the company added.
Yeu Hwan to Issue 2 Million New Shares
The board of directors of PCB maker Yeu Hwan Technology has approved plans to downsize the company's paid-in capital by 11.67% to NT $694 million ($21.8 million), and to then issue up to two million new shares at NT $10.60 per share through a private placement. The move is to amend the company's losses and strengthen its financial structure.
Viasystems Announces Capital Investment, Expansion Plans
Viasystems Group, Inc. today announced plans to make investments to expand capacity and advance its technology to meet the growing demand for its printed circuit board (PCB) products in the various markets it serves.
To meet the rapidly expanding technology and demand requirements of its broad customer base, Viasystems plans to invest up to $100 million in its printed circuit board manufacturing facilities over the next two to three years. Viasystems will invest the $100 million in increments to insure that it continues to respond to dynamic market demands.
